The Prophetic Gift: Test, Do Not Despise

Does the New Testament allow prophetic gifts after the apostles?

The New Testament expects spiritual gifts, including prophecy, in the church and commands believers neither to despise prophetic utterances nor accept them uncritically. Adventists believe the prophetic ministry of Ellen G. White manifested this gift. Her writings are not a replacement for Scripture and must be tested by Scripture. The Bible remains the final doctrinal authority.
