How Will Jesus Return?

Secret, symbolic, or unmistakably visible?

The New Testament presents Christ’s return as personal, visible, audible, glorious, and climactic. The righteous dead are raised, living believers are transformed, and God’s people are gathered to Christ. The hope is not that Christ quietly removes believers while the world continues unchanged, but that the King openly returns.

Reformation principle. The return of Jesus is the public climax of the gospel story.

Examine the challenge

Pre-tribulation rapture theology distinguishes Christ’s coming for the church from later public appearing. That system must be established from the whole sequence of relevant texts, not assumed from the word “caught up.”
