THE UNFINISHED REFORMATION · INVESTIGATION 16
Can the Dead Communicate With Us?
If the dead sleep, what explains supernatural messages claiming to come from them?
Scripture prohibits attempts to consult the dead and warns of deceptive spirits. If the dead are unconscious until resurrection, apparitions claiming to be deceased humans cannot be accepted simply on appearance. The Bible’s final conflict includes supernatural deception, making the doctrine of human nature practically important.
Reformation principle. Experience must be tested by revelation, especially when the supernatural is involved.
